At least one person was confirmed to have died in a fiery, high-speed crash in the westbound lanes of the Lowry Tunnel on Interstate 94 in downtown Minneapolis just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18. – A sedan crashed into the divider between the eastbound and westbound lanes and erupted into a ball of flames, creating heavy smoke in the tunnel and causing an unknown of amount of damage that will reportedly leave the westbound lanes shut for an extended period of time. One other person was injured in the incident with severe burns and was transported to the hospital.
